Who we are
Kiasu Games (kiasu.games) is a small party game website run from Singapore. "We" and "us" mean Kiasu Games. If you have a question about your data, email hello@kiasu.games.
What we collect, and why
What you type into a game. First names, light details like "always late", true facts and answers. We use them only to run the game you're playing. Some of it goes to our AI so it can write fibs, prompts, cards and end titles. Our server passes it on and doesn't keep it, and our logs never record names or answers.
What your browser keeps. Your browser saves a few small things so the site stays the way you left it: your look, your crowd, the packs you picked, whether you've had your free game, and your Party Pass. Player names are kept only while the tab is open, so you don't retype them between games. This stays on your device, and you can clear it in your browser settings at any time. We don't use cookies for tracking or ads.
Basic technical data. Like every website, our host sees your IP address and browser type when you visit. We use it to show you the pages, keep the site safe, and limit how often one visitor can use the AI. We don't use it to work out who you are.
If you buy a pass. Creem, our payment partner, takes the payment as the seller of record, under its own privacy policy. We never see your card number. We get your email address and what you bought, so we can send you the link to your pass and help if something goes wrong.
If you email us. We keep your email and message so we can reply.
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare runs the website and our server.
- Anthropic runs the AI (Claude). It doesn't train its AI on what we send, and deletes it within 30 days.
- Google Fonts supplies the lettering, so your browser connects to Google when a page loads.
- Creem handles payments, and our email provider sends pass links. Only if you buy a pass.
These services may handle data outside Singapore, including in the United States. We only use providers that protect it to a standard like ours. We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Game names and answers: not kept. They're gone when the game ends (apart from the AI's 30 days above).
- Pass purchases: for as long as we need them for your pass, refunds and tax records.
- Emails to us: until we've helped, then deleted.
- Technical logs: a short time, then deleted by our host.
Children
Kiasu Games is for groups with an adult host. Kids are welcome to play in a game an adult is running, but the site isn't meant for children under 13 on their own, and we don't knowingly collect their details. If you think a child has sent us personal details, email us and we'll delete them.
Type kindly
Only type what you're happy for the room to see. Please don't type other people's private details, like their health or money, or anything they wouldn't want shared.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the details we hold about you, or ask us to stop using them. Email hello@kiasu.games and we'll reply within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, such as the EU, the UK or California, you may have more rights, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In Singapore, that's the Personal Data Protection Commission.
Where the law asks for our reason for using your data, it's one of these: to run the game or pass you asked for, or to keep the site working and safe.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is big, we'll make it clear on the site.
